Climb the Queen of the Mountains and visit one of the most beautiful cities in Switzerland on our Lucerne & Mount Rigi Day Trip. We'll combine history and breathtaking scenery on this unmissable experience.

Lucerne & Mount Rigi Day Trip

At 9:30 am, we'll meet at Sihlquai Bus Station. We'll hop on a comfortable bus and set off from Zürich towards the small town of Weggis, where we'll see incredible views of Lake Lucerne.

We'll start seeing Mount Rigi from the lake, an Alpine mountain massif that stands at 5,900 feet (1,800 meters) high. You'll have 4 hours of free time, plus your cable car and rack railway tickets, to climb to the top. This mountain railway was the first of its kind in Europe when it began operating in 1871

As you stand atop Mount Rigi, you'll see beautiful views of Central Switzerland's lakes. You'll also find a number of mountain restaurants where you'll be able to have some food.

We'll descend Rigi on another rack railway train that'll take us to Vitznau. From there, you'll board a boat and take a 4-hour boat ride on Lake Lucerne. During your boat trip on this glacial spring, you'll see breathtaking views of the surrounding Alpine mountains.

The boat trip will end in Lucerne, where you'll have some free time to explore its historic center. You'll be able to stroll through the medieval streets of this picturesque city and admire the façades of its main monuments. These include the Baroque Jesuit church, the Town Hall, and the famous Chapel Bridge, which dates back to the 14th century.

Afterwards, we'll get on a bus and finish our day trip at 7 pm back at the starting point.
