    My experience in Machu Picchu was wonderful. However, it's important to note that it will be a long day, with the majority of the time spent in transit, so be prepared for that aspect of the journey. One small hiccup I encountered was a misunderstanding with the tour company regarding additional fees for an English-speaking tour. When I initially booked, I specifically chose an English tour, would be great for this to be clarified . Tour guide Tomas was great. 100% recommend

    An excellent trip, long but highly recommended, the guide Sayid was excellent and very attentive. A little confusion upon arrival at the train station in Ollantatambo at night, but nothing serious. It was a wonderful experience.

A bit of history

Machu Picchu is a pre-colonial archaeological site located on a mountaintop at an altitude of 2,450 metres (8,000 ft). Its construction dates back to the 15th century, although it was abandoned in the 16th century after the fall of the Inca Empire.

The site remained untouched until it was 'rediscovered' at the beginning of the 20th century.
