When making your booking, you'll be able to choose between the following 2 options:

Pucará Bulls Cusco Gilded Workshop (2 hours)

We'll begin this this Cusco artisan workshop with a brief introduction about local art, where the syncretism between Andean and European cultures plays a leading role. We'll also learn about the history of ceramics in this part of Peru, from its origins to its significance. Fancy learning about the legends surrounding the Pucará bull, which is considered a bearer of safety and prosperity? You'll hear all about it!

Each participant will then receive a Pucará bull and the necessary materials so that you can get down to work. We'll learn to work like real artists with the famous technique of Cusco colonial gliding, with bronze, copper and aluminium sheets.

Once the workshop has ended, you'll be able to take your Pucará bull home with you. Did you know that these bulls on the roofs of their houses to protect them?

Cusco Glazed Ceramics and Gilding Workshop (3 horas)

If you're looking for an even more complete experience, don't miss this workshop on glazed ceramics and Cusco gilding!

First off, we'll meet with the local artists of Totemiq, a collective of Cusco artists whose aim is to contribute to the preservation of Peruvian folk art. They'll explaon to us the production process of glazed ceramics and the famous Cusco gilding, as wel as many other curiosities of Cusco artisan products.

After the theoretical part, we'll put into practice what we've learned by following the artisan technique of shaping the ceramic pieces, and we'll also learn about the processes of glazing and painting. As the cherry on top, we'll paint figures of Pucará Bulls using arcylic and other materials. Pick whichever colour you like best!
