Meet us at Batthyány tér Square to catch our bus that will take us to the Buda Hills in just 20 short minutes. Get ready to set off on a hiking route through one of the best-kept secrets in Budapest!
We'll start our Buda Hills hiking route by taking in the breathtaking landscapes surrounding us. Within this natural reserve, we'll spot plenty of plant species that boast a mix of the region's characteristics and climate, which is so close to the Alps.
As we continue along the trail, we'll be treated to unparalleled panoramic views of Budapest that reveal themselves to us with each step. That's not all, though, as we continue the route we'll also spot the remains of a former monastery and bunkers from World War II.
Here, we'll pause for a moment at one of the best lookout points within the Buda Hills so you can take photos of the city and its surroundings from this privileged vantage point.
Then, around noon, we'll stop again to indulge in a delicious Bulgarian logangos at a local street stall. With newfound energy, we'll continue our route exploring narrow trails and hidden corners until we find the Children's Railway. This railway, built in 1947, was meant to show children how locomotives worked from the inside out.
Wrapping up our adventure, we'll head to other viewpoints along the trails. Then, headed back to the city, we'll catch the bus back to Budapest where we'll arrive at Széll Kálmán tér 6 hours later.
