When booking, you'll be able to choose between two tour options. Below, you can see the details of each tour.

St. Mark's Basilica, Terrace & Museum

If you choose this option, we'll see all the details that make St. Mark's Basilica so unique. During the tour, we'll see the Ascension Dome mosaics, and we'll reveal the different scenes represented. We'll also have access to the basilica's terrace, from which we'll have unbelievable views of the city, and its museum, where we can delve further into the basilica's history.

After 1 hour of discovering the true masterpiece that is the Basilica of St Mark, we'll say our goodbyes.

Main Floor Tour

If you choose this option, you'll have fast-track entry and enjoy a guided tour of St. Mark's Basilica's ground floor. As you enter through the grand portals of this iconic cathedral, you'll be awestruck by the glittering golden mosaics spanning over 8,000 square meters (86,111 square feet), depicting biblical scenes and stories from Venice's storied past.

Our guide will lead us through the expansive nave and aisles, highlighting the intricate details of the marble floors and the expertly crafted columns, each holding centuries of history. As we explore, we'll see how the basilica has served as both a religious centre and a symbol of Venetian power. We'll hear the captivating stories of how St. Mark's remains came to rest in this magnificent church, making it a revered site of pilgrimage and worship.

Finally, after a total of 45 minutes, the tour will come to an end.

When making your booking, you'll be able to choose from the following 2 meeting points:

Itinerary changes

Due to changes in operation, the skip-the-line service is temporarily suspended, and therefore all visitors will have to wait in line to enter the basilica.

From Monday to Saturday, the entrance will be on the ground floor of the basilica. Then, you'll go up to the upper floor to visit the museum, where you'll also be able to see the mosaics, after which you can go outside onto the terrace.

On Sundays and public holidays, visitors will enter directly from the upper floor to visit the museum and the outdoor terrace. The first floor will not be visited, as it is where mass takes place.
