At the selected time, we'll meet at the Villa Constanza bus terminal in the outskirts of Florence. We'll head towards the province of Siena, where we'll visit two of its most enchanting villages.
Our first stop will be in Pienza, Pope Pius II’s hometown, which he transformed into an ideal Renaissance town. This romantic city boasts the perfect combination of harmony and architectural beauty.
You'll have 1 hour 30 minutes to eat lunch and explore Pienza a little more. We recommend admiring the façades of the many buildings along the Corso Rossellino or heading to the 15th-century Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta.
Next, we’ll stop at Montepulciano. This medieval and Renaissance city sits on a hill surrounded by century-old trees and green valleys. You'll have 2 hours of free time to stroll around its impressive churches, monuments, and buildings. You could even try to find the spots used in the filming of the Twilight Saga's New Moon.
We'll also visit a winery in Montepulciano to learn about the region's most prestigious wines, such as the famous Brunello. Of course, we'll participate in a wine tasting that includes four glasses of wine plus some tasty snacks.
We'll finish our day trip upon our arrival back at the starting point in Florence after a total of 11 hours.
