Cuzco City & Inca Ruins Tour
Cuzco City & Inca Ruins Tour Itinerary
At your selected time on the day of your activity, you'll be picked up from your hotel in Cuzco, and we'll take a minibus to the Plaza de Armas square, where you'll find the Cathedral of Cuzco. We'll head into the city's most important temple to admire its architecture and artistic richness. Did you know that many of the gold decorations are made from gold from the Incas?
Next, we'll head to the nearby Qoricancha Temple, also known as the temple of the sun. The exact date when this temple was built is unknown, but what is known is that it was one of the most important religious centres for the Inca Empire. It is also one of the best examples of the fusion between Inca and Spanish culture, you discover why when we go inside!
The tour then takes the minibus once again and head to the four Inca ruins in Cuzco. We'll travel for just half an hour before reaching Sacsayhuaman, a citadel that dates back prior to the Incas. You'll enjoy an hour-long guided tour, and you'll learn why this is considered to be an Inca architectural masterpiece.
Next, we'll make our way to the sacred archaeological site of Qenko, then to Puka Pukara, a military fortress whose name means The Red Fort; and finally, we'll visit Tambomachay, a mysterious site featuring waterfalls, bathing pools and canals that may have been devoted to the cult of water.
At the end of your sightseeing tour around Cuzco's most important places of interest, we'll leave you back near Plaza de Armas, after a four-and-a-half-hour route.
