Humantay Lake Hike
Humantay Lake Hike
After picking you up from your hotel at the scheduled time, we'll begin making our way by bus to the Humanatay Lagoon - a spectacular sight nestled within the Andes mountain range.
The first stop on the route takes place in the Mollepata settlement, found at almost 3,000 meters up, and where we'll stop to enjoy an energy-rich breakfast. The best way to start the day!
Then we'll continue to explore the spectacular Peruvian region until we arrive at the Soraypama camp, 3,900 meters up. And here, we'll begin the trek to Humantay Lagoon, a turquoise paradise surrounded by the imposing glaciers that form part of the mountain range.
We'll hike for about 2 hours and climb up to 4,200 meters, all the way enchanted by the local flora and fauna - your reward for the effort is a breathtaking view, unique in all of Peru.
Then, after an hour in this magical place, we'll make our way back to Soraypama to climb aboard the bus that will take you back to Mollepata, to fuel up with a well-deserved buffet lunch.
Then we'll head back to Cusco and drop you off at Regocijo Square, arriving after this 13-hour-long adventure.

Frequently asked questions
-
Q - What should we take into account before booking the activity?
A - The hike to Laguna Humantay will take place between 3875 and 4200 meters (12,700 - 13,800 feet) of altitude. In order to be able to do it, it'll be necessary to be in good physical shape. On the other hand, it's impossible to know beforehand how our body will react to the altitude. Some people may feel headache or nausea. We advise doing this activity 2 or 3 days after your arrival in Cusco since you'll have acclimatized a bit to the altitude.
