Doge's Palace, St. Mark's Basilica + Glass Factory Guided Tour
Doge's Palace + Glass Factory Tour
Meet us at St. Mark's Square, under the winged lion column, and we'll set off on a thrilling guided tour of one of Venice's most unique sites!
We'll begin our route with a guided visit to the Doge's Palace, the former residence of the Doges, the greatest rulers of the Republic of Venice.
During our palace tour, we'll see significant artifacts like the Golden Staircase, the Giant's Staircase, and the Major Council Room. We'll also contemplate paintings by famous artists like Tintoretto, Veronese, and Titian within the palace. In addition, we'll enter inside the Bridge of Sighs, named as such for the notorious sighs of discontentment among prisoners crossing this bridge on their way back to their cells.
After touring the Doge's Palace, we'll visit the interior of St. Mark's Basilica via our skip-the-line ticket, allowing smooth access. Once inside, we'll see an impressive collection of Byzantine mosaics and appreciate several sacred art pieces that will captivate you.
Then, we'll head to a Murano glass factory. Please note that this workshop is not located on the island of Murano but in Venice. Here, we'll see a Venetian master glassmaker at work. This demonstration will be the perfect finishing touch to this 2-hour activity!
