Ojców National Park Excursion
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Krakow at 9 am and head north to visit the Ojców National Park. The minibus ride will take approximately 30 minutes.
During the excursion, we'll travel through the Ojców National Park making different stops at various points of interest to get to know all its charms. We'll see its extensive valleys and we'll take a look at the flora and fauna of this natural habitat. This landscape is home to over 130 species of birds! The habitat is also home to stoats and beavers are other animals that we'll be able to see on the trip.
We'll visit the ruins of Ojców Castle, a Gothic fortress built in the 14th century by order of King Casimir III the Great. You'll learn about how this site played an important role in the defence of the area and acted as a stronghold during the Middle Ages. The site offers incredible views of the Pradnik River.
Next, we'll come across the Cudgel of Hercules, a stone column that is almost 25 metres high. Together with the Krakow Gate, it's one of the symbols of the national park.
The next stop on our tour will consist of the Pieskowa Skala Castle, a Renaissance building built on a limestone massif. We'll walk through its beautiful gardens and rooms. Today its halls house an important exhibition of the National Art Collection of Krakow.
Our excursion wouldn't be complete without paying a visit to the picturesque Chapel on the Water, a small but charming wooden parish church.
We'll end the excursion by dropping you off back at your hotel at 3 pm.
