At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Santa Maria Novella station and leave Florence behind as we drive to discover medieval Tuscany. Let's go explore Pienza, Monteriggioni and Montalcino! Stone walls, castles, and templar legends await us.
Our first stop will be at Monteriggioni, a small fortified village with walls dating back to 1200 AD. Time for a journey back in time! You'll be able to walk along its walls until you reach the Templar Museum, where you'll learn about the exploits of these renowned knights.
After some free time in Monteriggioni, it's time to set off for the Val d'Orcia, a World Heritage Site characterised by endless emerald green hills that turn into golden fields during the summer. Doesn't this landscape look familiar? You have probably seen it in the famous film Gladiator.
In this beautiful region, we'll first visit Montalcino, a town well-known for its wines. As a matter of fact, one of them is considered the best wine in Tuscany. You'll have 2.5 hours of free time for a stroll through its streets and typical shops, after which we'll leave for the last stop of the tour.
Welcome to Pienza! You'll have an hour and a half of free time to stroll around this town famous for its historic centre - did you know that it's also part of the World Heritage List? Besides its art and culture, its delicious cheeses will win you over!
After 11 hours of excursion, we'll return to the meeting point in Florence.
